He will be guest speaker for JFS'fifth
annual Reva Stocker Memorial Lecture.
The lecture, endowed by Larry and the
late Reva Stocker, focuses on promoting
healthy families as a way to reduce family
violence and child abuse.
The Stocker Lecture is a component
of JFS' Windows family violence preven-
tion program. The program also offers
individual, family and group therapy, and

a shelter in cooperation with the National
Council of Jewish Women.
The author of 10 books, Rabbi
Boteach speaks on a range of contempo-
rary issues, including relationships and
sexuality, racism and gender equality, and
theological issues such as the existence of
God and human suffering.
In Kosher Sex, Rabbi Boteach offers
serious relationship and marriage advice
for couples, tackling subjects many clergy
members consider taboo, but which are
part of most intimate relationships.
"The book is based on love, trust and
genuine intimacy," he said. "This is uni-
versal advice for everyone based on Jewish
principles, the Talmud and the Torah."
The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit is co-sponsoring
the free lecture. A dessert reception with
the rabbi follows. For reservations, call
Marianne Margolis at JFS: (248) 559-
