She is a former chair-

For Imberman

Joe Imberman, director of the endow-
ment program for the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit, has accepted
the position of associate vice president
of planned giving and endowment for
the United Jewish Communities in New
York.
In Imberman's 13 years with
Federation, he helped build the endow-
ment fund to more than $300 million.
In his new position, he will assist federa-
tions of all sizes in their efforts to build
endowment funds.
Formed in 1999 by the merger of the
United Jewish Appeal, United Israel
Appeal and the Council of Jewish
Federations, UJC is the umbrella social
service and fund-raising organization
that represents nearly 200 federations
and some 400 independent Jewish corn-
munities in the U.S.
