He is the son of Michelle and Richard Gordon and the brother of Rachel. Proud grandparents are Bev and Ed Ersher and Marilynn and Seymour Gordon. Adam is the beloved great- grandson of Freda Ersher. Adam's most meaningful mitzvah project was volunteering at Yad Ezra. A student at Bloomfield Hills Middle School, Adam enjoys base- ball, golf and spending his summers at Camp Tanuga. Sarah Pauline Kahn of Huntington Woods will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, May 27, at Temple Emanu- El. She is the daughter of Yona and Robert Kahn and sister of Natalie. Sarah is the granddaughter of the late Lillian and H. Malcolm Kahn and the late Henrietta and Akivah Drasnin. Sarah is an honor student at Norup Middle School in Oak Park, where she plays violin in the sev- enth-grade orchestra. She also plays piano and has been a member of the Temple Emanu-El Youth Choir for four years. For her mitzvah project, Sarah volunteered as a swim instructor assistant at the Huntington Woods Aquatics Club. In addition, she has participated in the Temple Emanu- El Youth choir performances at local senior citizen apartments and nurs- ing homes. Sarah enjoys competitive swim- ming and is a member of the Huntington Woods Hurricane and JCC swim teams. Her otherinter- ests include traveling, skiing, listen- ing to music and reading. Michael Benjamin Klar will become a bar mitzvah at Congregation Shir Tikvah on Saturday, May 27. He is the son of Matthew and Reva Klar and brother of Jonathan. He is the grandson of the late Helen and Morris Kamen, Sydney Klar and Leila Polk. Michael is a sev- enth-grade student at Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham. Some of his favorite activ- ities include acting, skiing, computer games and going to camp. For his mitzvah project, Michael visited residents at Evergreen and Lahser Hills nursing homes. He also delivered packages for the Purim Parcel Project to a nursing home. David Eric Levinson will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Adat Shalom Synagogue on Saturday, May 27. David is the son of Julie Levinson and Jay and Risa Levinson and brother to. Ilana. Proud grandparents are Lila and Jack Schneider and Rosa Levinson. He is also the grandson of the late Louis Levinson. David is an honor student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills. Some of his hobbies include basketball, golf. and skiing. Among his mitzvah projects, David made and delivered bag lunches for the homeless and volun- teered time at Fleischman Residence. Joshua Loeb (Yehoshua David) of Huntington Woods will be a bar mitz- vah on Friday, May 26, at Temple Emanu-El. Rabbi Joseph Klein and Cantor Norman Rose will officiate. Josh's parents, Ron and Sheri Loeb, sister Melissa and brother Scott will participate in the service. Proud grandmoth- ers are Selda B. Loeb and Tikwah B. Gerendasy. Josh will be reading Torah in memory of his grandfathers Sidney B. Loeb and Larry L. Gerendasy. Josh, a sixth grader at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills, enjoys horseback rid- ing, all animals, summers at Camp Arowhon and Torch Lake, skiing and cooking. His mitzvah projects include volunteering at the Michigan Animal Rescue League in Pontiac and at Yad Ezra. He also participates in a Dor L'Dor project at Hechtman Jewish Apartments, where he is partnered with a senior citizen.
