JWV Holds
Memorials

The Michigan Jewish War Veterans
and Ladies Auxiliary will be joined by
the Canadian and Russian Jewish War
Veterans in international Memorial
Day services at two cemeteries on
Sunday, May 28.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. at
Machpelah Cemetery, 21103
Woodward, Ferndale. A second service
will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Hebrew
Memorial Park, 21503 E. 14 Mile
Road, Clinton Township. Rabbi
Herbert Yoskowitz of Adat Shalom
Synagogue will officiate at Machpelah.
Department Chaplain Tom Tannis
will lead the service at Hebrew
Memorial.
Past Department Commander and
Chief of Staff Milton Klein will chair
the events, directed by State
Commander Robert Feldman and
Ladies' Auxilrary President Shirley
Schlussel. Joe Hamlin and Chris
Hammond of Ferndale High School
will sound "Taps" at the Machpelah
service. The Balfour Branch/Royal
Canadian Legion will be commanded
by Izzy Sigel, the Russian delegation
by Commander Arkagiy Ongberg and
spokesman Hy Shenkman.
The services are open to the public.
In case of rain, services will be inside
the cemeteries' chapel. For informa-
