Question of the Week: During the Six-Day War, the Israeli army
used a little-known path along the Jordan River to surprise enemy
troops. Yet the area was occupied by the Arabs, and the Israel
Defense Forces officers never had actually stepped foot along the
path. So how did they find it?

However Israel's establishment
is viewed, whether as a triumph
of Zionism or having profound
religious significance, it's an
event our community proudly
celebrates — this year on
Sunday, May 21.

hrough song and dance, history and activi-
ty, the community will unite on Sunday, May
21, when the annual IsraelFest takes place.
This year's festival, in honor of Israel's 52nd
anniversary, will be held on the grounds of Temple
Emanu-El in Oak Park, which will be turned into an
environment designed to simulate Israeli sites.
From 1 4 p.m., visitors to Israel Fest will get a
"Passport to Israel. They'll stop by different stations
to get their "passports" stamped, after which they
will receive a prize for completing the tour.
