Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Aaron Frank Egan celebrated his bar
mitzvah May 13 with the Workmen's
Cirde/Arbeter Ring.
Friends and family
joined Aaron and his
parents, Arlene Frank
and Dr. Robert Egan
at the simcha. Proud
grandparents are Anne
and George Frank.
Participating in the
program were shule
students singing as a chorus to honor
Aaron. Shule Director Jan Adler officiat-
ed and Aaron's mother, who is Michigan
District chair, brought greetings from
Workmen's Circle locally and nationally.
Aaron's bar mitzvah presentation was
titled "Jewish Food: Symbolism and
Sustenance." For his Yiddish compo-
nent, Aaron shared the recipe for chick-
en Soup, 'A Goldene Yoich."
Aaron is in seventh grade at Friends
School in Detroit. His interests include
chess, soccer, computers, reading and
cooking. Aaron's mitzvah projects
included preparing meals at St. Leo's
Soup Kitchen, collecting signatures for a
congressional petition advocating hand-
gun control and singing with classmates
for residents of the Prentis and Teitel
Jewish Apartments in Oak Park.

Jeremy Thurman Fields will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah Friday,
May 19, at Temple
Israel. Jeremy is the
much loved son of
Jessica D. and Richard
A. Fields and special
brother of Sasha,
Jessica, Ryan, Michelle,
Gary and Karen.
Proud grandmothers
are Shirley Fields and
Rachel Langton; happy great-grand-
mother is Maureen Thurman. Jeremy is
also the grandson of the late William
Fields, Jesse W. Thurman and William
C. Langton and loved great-grandson of
