He then went to Bucharest to open the first transit station for Jews of the former Soviet Union on their way to Israel. During his three-year tenure, 100,000 immigrants passed i through the station. Yitzhaki has held several positions with the Jewish Agency for Israel and has been in his current post since 1998.
