Suspicion to Tolerance — Christian-
Jewish Relations in
the 21st Century,"
7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 11,
at the Jewish
Community Center
in Oak Park.
The lecture is
part of the series
offered by the
Jewish
Community
David Weinberg
Center of
Metropolitan
Detroit and the Cohn-Haddow Center
for Judaic Studies at Wayne State
University.
There is no charge. A dessert recep-
tion will follow.

JCC Holds
Omer Program

A family omer program titled "From
Pesach to Shavuot: Countdown to
Receiving the Torah" will be put on by
the Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The program will be held 7 p.m.
Thursday, May 25, at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Building in Oak Park and 2 p.m.
Sunday, June 4, at the D. Dan and
Betty Kahn Building in West
Bloomfield.
The omer period will be covered
through interactive, hands-on projects
for families with children ages 5-10.
The cost is $2.50 per child, or $8 for
families of four children or more. For

Hillel Day School
Hosts Israel Fest

Israel's independence will be celebrated
at a festival 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May
*10, at Hillel Day School, 32200
Middlebelt Road, Farmington Hills.
Tickets for games are $5 for 20
punches. Food and cappuccino will be
sold separately. Tammy Goroish and
Phyllis Pilcowitz are co-chairs of the fes-
