Book Of Life
Signing Event

More than 100 endowment fund
donors and 50-year contributors to
the Jewish Federation's Annual
Campaign will be honored at a Book
of Life signing event from 4:30-6
p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the Max
M. Fisher Federation Building in
Bloomfield Township.
Each of the honorees has related
his or her family memories in the
book, which was created by the
Jewish Federation and the United
Jewish Foundation of Metropolitan
Detroit to recognize those who have
given their support to the communi-
ty, over the years.
Terran Leemis, chair of the Book
of Life Committee, says each
inscribed page includes an individual
person or family's thoughts that will
be a part of the community's perma-
nent archive.
At the signing and reception, each
donor will receive a commemorative

chaired by Pearlena Bodzin and
Nancy Welber Barr, will hold a
Social Action Workshop 10
a.m.-noon Sunday, May 7, at
the Max M. Fisher Federation
Building. Chairmen and mem-
bers of congregational and orga-
nizational social action commit-
tees are invited.
Rachel Barr of Adat Shalom
Synagogue will make a presenta-
tion on "Youth Programs and
Small Projects." Barbara
Hechtman of Temple Israel will
discuss "Attracting New
Members." Liz Kanter
Groskind, founder of Volunteer
Impact, will speak on "New
Ideas for a New Year."
Following the presentations,
there will be an informal
exchange among attendees.
