May 10, the Jewish Community

Metropolitan Detroit
will host an inter-
view with Yuval
Rabin 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 18,
at the Jewish
Community Center
in West Bloomfield.
Rabin is chairman
Yuval Rabin
of the Israeli grass-
roots social move-
ment Dor Shalom (Generation of
Peace) and the only son of the late
Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Interviewing Rabin will be Jewish
News publisher Arthur M. Horwitz.
The newspaper and the Michigan-
Israel Connection are sponsoring the
lecture, which is the third in the
Shiffman Lecture Series. The public is
invited to attend at no charge.

Celebration

The Michigan Region of Women's
American ORT (Organization for
Educational Resources and
Technological Training) will host a city-
wide community dinner, "Vision 2000:
A Celebration," Thursday, May 18, at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
ABC News correspondent Morton
Dean will be the speaker. Honorary
chairman is Marlene Borman of
Bloomfield Hills. The dinner chairs are
Dana Burnstein and Cindy Franklin.
Funds raised will benefit .ORT
Operations USA, which administers
Bramson College in New York, Zarem-
Golde ORT Institute in Chicago, Los
Angeles ORT Technical Institute as well
as three ORT computer technology cen-
ters in Miami, Atlanta and Cleveland,
and ORT Resource Center in New
York.
Nineteen women will be recognized
for their service and dedication to the
ORT program. They are: Arlene Barris,
Diana Berlinberg, Judy Berman, Bette
Bonin, Gert Brainin, Laurie Chudnow,
Sylvia Hubert Goldberg, Harriet
Jacobson, Beverley Katz, Sharon Klein,
Sheri Lisagor, Marsha Margolis, Shelly
Mendelson, Bess Raimi, Bertha Rubin,
Helen Stebbins, Carole Walker, Rita
Weston and Eadie Zeldes.
