Workshop Set
The Jewish Community Council's Social
Action Coordinating Committee,
chaired by Pearlena Bodzin and Nancy
Welber Barr, will hold a Social Action
Workshop 10 a.m.-noon Sunday, May
7, at the Max M. Fisher Federation
Building'in Bloomfield Township.
Chairmen and members of congrega-
tional and organizational social action
committees are invited.
Rachel Barr of Adat Shalom
Synagogue will make a presentation on
"Youth Programs and Small Projects."
Barbara Hechtman of Temple Israel will
discuss "Attracting New Members." Liz
Kanter Groskind, founder of Volunteer
Impact, will speak on "New Ideas for a
New Year."
Following the presentations, there
will be an informal idea exchange.

Jewish Family and Children's Services of
Flint received a grant to Camp Maccabi
from the Loeb Charitable Trust.
The grant will provide scholarships to
enable children from low-income fami-
lies to attend summer camp.
Camp Maccabi, held at Camp Maas
in Ortonville, offers pre-kindergarteners
through eighth-graders seven weeks of
day camp. Activities include swim
instruction, waterfront activities, pioneer
skills, arts and crafts, performing arts,
mass media, nature, singing, sports and
Judaic programming. Weekly field trips
and theme days are also planned.
