Detroit native Shimra Star is the illus-
trator for A Guide to the Passover Seder

Star, 20, is a graduate of Sally Allan
Alexander Beth Jacob School for Girls
in Oak Park. She attended Darchei

Binah women's seminary in Israel for
advanced Torah study.
Now a student at the Fashion
Institute of Technology in Manhattan,
she will earn her associate of illustra-
tion degree in May and has been
accepted into the school's bachelor of
fine arts-illustration program.
A Guide to the Passover Seder goes
through the seder with an interpretive
translation that explains and gives
insights. - Star's illustrations, add beau-
ty in black and white to Housman's
text.
The cover illustration, a glowing
watercolor, is repeated on the back of
the paperback volume, which has 58
pages of text and 35 pages of index,
explanations and tables.
The book, at $12.95, is available at
Borenstein's Book & Music Store in
Oak Park and Esther's Judaica in West
Bloomfield.
