... Passover is here! And
hile we scrub the house and
get out the Haggadot, a hun-
dred Jewish Web sites are up and run-
ning to educate and entertain surfers of
all ages and affiliation.
A large one, for example, is spon-
sored by the Union of Orthodox Jewish
Congregations of America and can be
accessed at its homepage, wvvw.ou.org.
There's much to see on the OU home-
page specific to Passover. For example,
you can order a free, large print
Haggada provided by the Jewish
Heritage for the Blind; For more about
the holiday, look to the left side of the
page (screen) under "KotelCam" and
click on Passover/Pesach.
Known for its guide to kosher
foods and kosher-grams, the OU's
complete Kosher Products guide is
available here. Just download the
Acrobat Reader. Composed of three
parts, the Kosher Products Guide
includes everything from candle-light-
ing times to a seder primer.
You can complete a form for selling
your chametz (leavened products),
though you'll have to fill in your own
rabbi's name and address. The OU
sells a video on the subject online,
with a video clip you can sample
before committing to buy.
Kids might enjoy a Passover story,
read by its author (also for sale at
Barnes & Noble online
vv- vvw.bn.com ), or an audio cassette,
"Let's Sing the Seder," available for lis-
tening online, or for sale online.
The information about Passover is
divided into three sections: Basic
Overview, Intermediate, and
Advanced. You'll find instructions for
preparing for the holiday, as well as a
nice glossary of Passover terms. From
the advanced section, you can order

After you've read a bit, try your hand
at the Pesach test, appropriately orga-
nized to follow each of the three levels
of study at the Web site. It's too late,
however, to enter yourself in the con-
test; the deadline passed on April 4.
As for the activism of the OU for
Jewish causes (they have a lobbyist on
Capitol Hill), their Web site asks us to
remember four Israeli soldiers missing
in action: Ron Arad, Zachary Baumel,
Yehudah Katz and Tzvi Feldman. Arad
was an Air Force navigator captain
who was captured after parachuting
into south Lebanon in 1986; he's
believed to be held by an Iranian
group. The Syrians captured the other
soldiers at the Battle of Sultan Yakub
in June 1982. The OU offers a special
"Four Questions" for our seders, plus
a downloadable MIA seat saver and a
MIA prayer.
This Web site is not glitzy. It has
no bells and whistles, and most of
what it has is done in a simple text
format. There's not even a recipe for
sponge cake.
What it does have, hoWever, is easy
to get to and use.
