Odyssey Network celebrates Passover
With several holiday-Chemed specials.
New Jewish Cuisine: Passover Meals,
airing 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m. Thursday,
April 20, features master chef Jeff
Nathan of Manhattan's top-rated
kosher restaurants Abigael's and
Abigael's on Broadway. He will pro-
vide recipes for what he calls "new
Jewish cuisine" as well as cooking tips
and holiday meal insights. The
Passover recipes include "Lamb
Casserole," "Matza Ceviche" and
"Matza Fritatta."
The 92nd Street Y Presents: Music of
the Haggada, airing 3 a.m. 4 a.m.
Friday morning, April 21, explores
musical traditions from around the
world. Inspired by the story of the
Exodus as told in the Haggada, songs
will be presented in Hebrew, Yiddish
and English from the Babylonian,
Chasidic, Syrian, Tunisian, Italian,
Ashkenazic and Bucharest traditions.
Lights of Freedom, airing 6:30-7
a.m. Friday, April 21, is an award-win-
ning children's program that uses pup-
pets, David and Rachel Blastowitz, to
teach Jewish values, holidays and cul-
tural identities. In this program,
which focuses on Passover and the
flight from Egypt, David travels back
in time to meet Moses and encounters
the Egyptian Pharoah (Dom DeLuise)
who enslaves him. Through his jour-
ney, David learns what Passover means
and the value of freedom.
