Council Offers
New Slate

The Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit has announced
its slate of officers and candidates to
fill board of directors seats. The elec-
tion will be held at the council's annu-
al meeting on May 17.
Kathleen Straus has been nomi-
nated to serve for a second year as
council president. Ann Zousmer has
been nominated as president-elect.
Vice presidential candidates are
Jim Alexander and Richard Nodel.
Arline Gould is nominated as secre-
tary and Steve Silverman as treasurer.
Slated to fill three-year terms on the
board of directors are Maxine Berman,
Patti Aaron, Nancy Welber Barr, Sid
Bolkosky, Ruth Bornstein, Daniel
Cherrin, Linda Finkel, Ethan Gilan,
Sally Krugel, Sue Marx, Allen Olender,
Bryce Sandler, Bertram Schreiber,
David Schostak, Donald Wagner,
David Weiss and David Victor.
Sue Marx Smock has been nomi-
nated for a two-year term on the
board of directors.
Additional nominations for any
elective office may be made by peti-
tion if signed by at least five quali-
fied delegates. Only one nominee
may be named in each petition.
Petitions must be delivered to the
council office by Thursday, April 13.
