Temple Hosts
Women's Event

Temple Kol Ami is the host for this
weekend's Women of Reform Judaism
District 10 Biennial, April 7-9.
With the theme, " Tikkun Hanafesh-
Nourishing Our Souls: Realizing
Sisterhood Needs Through Sisterhood
Know-How," the gathering includes
Shabbat dinner and services April 7, as
well as morning services April 8, at the
temple. Other events will take place at
the Novi Hilton and Convention
Center.
"We are so honored and privileged to
be a part of this wonderful event," said
Madeline Bassin, Temple Kol Ami
Sisterhood president. "We have been
planning it for the last two years and
promise it will be a wonderful time for
women to gather for a weekend of wor-
ship, study, entertainment and bonding."
Guest speakers at the regional event
are Judith Silverman, president of
Women of Reform Judaism; Rabbi Lane
Steinger, director, Midwest Council,
Union of American Hebrew
Congregations, and former rabbi of
Temple Emanu-El in Oak Park; and
Torat Nashim scribe Neil Yerman.
Representing 47 sisterhoods, District
10 is comprised of 9,000 women in a
seven-state region: Indiana, Ohio,
Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia,
Erie, Pa., and Michigan.
"This is a weekend for many women
to just get a chance to relax and make
new friendships with other Jewish
women. We are excited to be able to
make a difference in the lives of these
busy women," Bassin said.
