In second place was the 1999 win- ner, Cafe Cortina of Farmington Hills, with its Tortellini with Tomato and Cream Sauce and 1996 Palazzo Della Toree. ... Grey Gables Inn of Charlevoix, took third place with Escargot wrapped in Phyllo with Garlic and Thyme, paired with a 1997 Bowers Harbor Vineyards Chardonnay. As the first-place finisher, Mon Jin Lau received a cash prize and person- alized traveling trophy to display in the Troy restaurant. The Andiamo Family of Restaurants, repre- sented by Trattoria Andiamo, Andiamo Lakefront Bistro and Andiamo Italia, were solid participants with a range of Italian delicacies rang- ing from veal and cheese-stuffed shells to peppercorn-encrusted salmon ... Although Tom's Oyster Bar won Best Table Display, Grey Gables Inn from Charlevoix was a close second with an ornate sterling silver candelabra anchoring its table ...
