MSU Memorializes- Holocaust Victims Special events will be held at Michigan State University during the first two weeks in April in mem- ory of the Holocaust. As part of the commemoration, Laurence Baron, professor of history and director of the Lipinsky Center for Judaic Studies at San Diego State University, will speak on "Dynamics of Decency: Why `Righteous Gentiles' Rescued Jews Durifig the Holocaust." He will speak at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the University Lutheran Church, East Lansing. On Tuesday, April 4, the award- winning play Remnants will be per- formed at 7:30 p.m. in 334 Case Hall at MSU. The author, Henry Greenspan of the University of Michigan, will perform the play that is a result of two decades of conversations between himself and Holocaust survivors. Omer Bartov, professor of history at Rutgers University and an inter- national scholar on the Holocaust, will present the David and Sarah Rabin Memorial Lecture at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the MSU Union. Bartov is the author of Kere is a chance to make a real difference, to get involved in this com- munity wide effort. MSU's Jewish Studies Program will offer the second annual "Michigan Teachers Workshop on Holocaust Education" on Friday, April 14. The one-day, invitational program will be conducted by Holocaust scholars, including Omer Bartov; Henry Greenspan, University of Michigan; Sidney Bolkosky, University of Michigan; Dearborn; and MSU's Steve Weiland and Kenneth Waltzer. The workshop provides a forum for Michigan high school teachers and college professors. Both the play and the lectures are free and open to the public. The teachers' workshop is by invitation only.
