"Jason then gave I
me a wicked smile. '
'Dad, speaking of
lifetime friendships,
tell us how you met
Mom at the Chop House.'
"Well . . . your mother was having
dinner with 12 of her family members
and friends, some of whom you know
very well. They were across the street
at the Caucus Club celebrating her
brief return from Acapulco, where she
had been living for the previous two
years. Your mom, Gail, was to be in
Michigan for only two weeks before

the Caucus Club, they decided to
grace the Chop House with their pres-
ence for dessert and cocktails. Well,
her entrance caused more than a stir.
It was an extremely busy Saturday
night and I was on stage playing —
who remembers — when all of a sud-
den, I heard several glasses and food
trays come crashing to the floor. I lit-
erally dove for cover, along with the
rest of the band. When the dust set-
tled, every man in the restaurant,
including myself, was overwhelmed by
the source of the commotion.
Strolling nonchalantly through the
door with her group, was a gorgeous
young woman with the darkest tan.
She was wearing a very fashionable,
in-vogue Acapulco outfit and looked
sensational.
"After she strolled to the bar with
