Bar Mitzvah Bounty

Andrew Garon was called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah on March 11 at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek B'nai
Israel in West Bloomfield. The Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit
student cited the Palm Pilot as his
favorite gift, a testimony to the tech-
nologically advanced teens of today.
But he was also impressed with the
brick placed in his honor at Comerica
Bank and the Top Flite golf clubs he
received from Carl's Golfland in
Bloomfield Hills. Sports-related gifts
are almost always a hit, as are gift cer-
tificates for book and music stores.
Girls celebrating their bat mitzvahs
