Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Jessica Barr became a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, March 18, at Adat
Shaloth Synagogue. Jessica is the
daughter of Nancy
and Richard Barr of
West Bloomfield.
She is the grand-
daughter of Nancy
and Martin Barr,
Dorothy Welber
and the late Daniel
Welber. Jessica's sis-
ter Rachel and her
aunt Lois Welber participated in
the service along with other mem-
bers of the family.
Jessica is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield, where she plays
trombone in the symphony and
jazz bands. She also plays on the
school's basketball team. Jessica
enjoys downhill skiing and spend-
ing summers at Camp Tamarack
and Camp Michigania. As part of
the 13 Mitzvot Program, Jessica
worked at the Yad Ezra kosher food
pantry, helped with the South
Oakland Shelter Project at Adat
Shalom and made lunches for a
homeless shelter through the Adat
Shalom Social Action Committee.
Heidi Joanne Dreyfuss will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, March
25, at Temple Beth
El. She is the
daughter of Elisa
and Dr. Donald
Dreyfuss and the
younger sister of
Heather, Heath and
Hayley. Proud
giandmothers are
Beatrice Katz and Frances Dreyfuss.
Heidi is also the granddaughter of
the late Max L. Katz and the late
Herbert Dreyfuss.
Heidi, a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Bloomfield Hills Middle
School, enjoys math and tennis. She
is a member of the school tennis team
and played No. 1 singles last fall.
Heidi has volunteered through-
out the year as several area nursing
homes, volunteered at a Bloomfield
Hills-summer camp and helped to
make. dolls to donate for Hadassah.

Darin Matthew Goldstein will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, March 25, at Temple
Israel. He is the son of Carmen and
Gregory Goldstein and brother of
Zachary. Proud
grandparents are
Carole Goldstein,
Maria Miceli and
Manuel Chavez.
He is also the
grandson of the
late Alan
Goldstein.
Darin's mitzvah
projects included raising funds to
donate to the Michigan Jewish
AIDS Coalition, volunteering at
Yad Ezra and assisting in Temple
Israel's religious school. An honor
student at Walled Lake Middle
School, Darin enjoys playing in-
line hockey, golf and tennis.
Andrew Lee Lubetsky will become
a bar mitzvah on Saturday, March
25, at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Andrew is the son of Dr. Harry and
Sharon Lubetsky
and brother to
Caryn of Foster
City, Calif. and
Laura of San
Francisco. He is the
grandson of Bert
Nelson, the late
Leo Nelson and the
late Gertrude and
Leo Lubetsky.
Andrew is a student at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills, where
he was on both the soccer and bas-
ketball teams. His mitzvah projects
included working at Yad Ezra.
Stephanie Beth Marcus-will
become a bat mitzvah at Temple
Israel on Friday, March 24. She is
the daughter of
Andrea and
Kenneth Marcus
and sister of
Melissa and Laura.
Her grandparents
are the late Gloria
and Marc Bess and
the late Melita and
Samuel Marcus.
Creating dolls for hospitalized
children was Stephanie's most
meaningful mitzvah project. An
honor roll student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Stephanie enjoys dance, especially
jazz and ballet, as well as comedy,
music and travel.
