Health Organization and the United
Way, Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in
Commerce Township will sponsor a
screening fair 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday,
April 7, at the hospital.
The event will feature many free
tests and services, including blood-
pressure screening, nutrition counsel-
ing, hearing tests, body composition,
medication counseling and pul-
monary function testing. Optional
tests, which carry a lab fee, also will
be offered.

themed Passover cooking class at
Kitchen Glamor, 6353 Orchard Lake

Sephardi recipes may include rice

"Adventures in Care Giving." The ses-
sions meet 7-9:30 p.m. every Monday
through May 15 in the chapel of
Sinai-Grace Hospital, 6071 West
Outer Drive in Detroit.
The program provides discussion
of the spiritual dimension of care
giving. The series is geared toward
nurses who work in hospitals and
nursing homes or provide home
care; hospice volunteers; volunteers
interested in hospital or nursing
home visitation; clergy; and church
lay leaders who work with ill or
aging individuals.
Participants may attend any num-
ber of sessions at a charge of $5 each.

Providence Doctor
Is Honored

Providence Hospital and Medical Centers
opened the Kenneth Senior and Mary Elliott
and Family Breast Care Center at the
Providence Hospital facility in Novi. Dr. James
E. Selis, medical director for diagnostic imaging,
is the physician responsible for the conception
and opening of the comprehensive center.
In recognition of spearheading the effort to open
the breast care facility and for his acts of volun-
teerism and charity, Dr. Selis was honored by his
Dr. James E. Sells
peers at the recent Providence Health Foinidation
Friends' Ball. Dr. Selis will be recognized as
Physician of the Year by the Caduceus Society of Physicians, a philanthropic
organization of physicians committed to advancing the healing mission of
Providence Hospital and Medical Centers.
