Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Daniel Joseph Devries will cele-
brate his bar mitzvah at Adat
Shalom Synagogue
on Saturday, March
18. Sharing in
Danny's simcha are
proud parents Drs.
Sheri and Jeffrey
Devries, brother
David and sister
Rachel. Proud
grandparents are
Helen and Robert Devries and
Barbara and Lawrence Traison.
Enjoying special nachas is great-
grandmother Ruby Springel.
Danny is an honor student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. His
interests include football, basket-
ball, computers and camping.
Danny's mitzvah projects have
included volunteering at the Jewish
Association for Residential Care,
Yad Ezra, Adat Shalom's Housing
the Homeless project and Hillel's
Dor L'Dor intergenerational pro-
gram at Flesichman Residence.

Isaac Joseph Elkiss will become a
bar mitzvah on
Saturday, March
18, at Temple
Israel. He is the
son of Drs. Sally
Rosenberg and
Mitchell Elkiss and
brother of
Elizabeth. Happy
grandmothers are
Idella Rosenberg
and Audrey Elkiss; excited great-
grandmother is Sylvia Markel. He is
also the grandson of the late Stanley
Elkiss and the late Harry
Rosenberg.
Isaac's mitzvah projects included
volunteering at the Fleischman
Residence and assisting at the
Temple Israel picnic, as well as
babysitting during the High Holy
Days. Attending Abbott Middle
School in West Bloomfield, where
he sings and performs in theatrical
productions, Isaac plays soccer, ten-
nis, the violin and loves to read.
