Campaign Countdown
Starts On April 9

James August and Sharon Hart will
chair the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's
2000 Campaign
Countdown, which
kicks off on April 9.
Campaign
Countdown, formerly
called Days of
Decision, is the com-
Sharon Hart
munity effort to con-
clude Federation's
Annual Campaign.
The appeal solicits
funds to touch thou-
sands of lives in
Detroit, Israel and 58
countries around the
world through its
support of lifesaving
James August
and life-enhancing
services.
August, a member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek,-is an executive man-
agement adviser for Simons
Michelson Zieve Advertising. He
serves on the Jewish Federation Board
of Governors and the executive board
of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Hart, a past president of Adat
Shalom. Synagogue, serves on the
Federation Board of GovernOrs. She
has chaired many Federation groups,
such as Campaign's Super Sunday
and the new gifts and special gifts
committees.
To celebrate Federation's 2000
Campaign and kick off Campaign
Countdown, the community is invit-
ed to a concert by Israel's Sheba
Choir, a group of immigrant children
from Ethiopia, 7:30 p.m. Sunday,
April 9, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek, 27375 Bell Road, Southfield.
Every contributor to the campaign
will receive two complimentary tick-
ets to the concert; children are invited
at no charge. Those who volunteer to
make telephone calls during
Campaign Countdown will receive
VIP seating at the concert.
Immediately following Campaign
Countdown, important decisions will
be made on how the campaign dollars
will be allocated to Federation agen-
cies. As an incentive, every gift
increase over last year — and every
new gift — will be doubled in value
by the Max M. and Marjorie Fisher
Campaign Challenge Fund.
