In 1987, he joined the agricultur-
al engineering department and cur-

The ultrasound procedure
began as a method to vaccinate
fish, but has shown promise in a
variety of human uses.
Ultrasound increases the perme-
ability of skin for absorption of
medicine. According to Kimmel,
ultrasound also has shown
promise in the regeneration of
blood vessels in damaged tissue
for people suffering heart attack
aftermath or diabetes.
