SIDNEY NICKIN, 85, of Hallandale,
Fla., died March 8. Mr. Nickin was a
department store executive, a member
of Congregation B'nai Moshe, a
Shriner and an honorary member of
the Windsor, Ontario, Police
Department. He also performed magic
for children's and veteran's hospitals
and orphanages and supplied them
with turkeys at holiday time.
Mr. Nickin is survived by his wife,
Leah Nickin; son and daughter-in-law,
Norman and Kathy Nickin of Livonia;
daughters and son-in-law, Debra
Ribitwer of Bloomfield Hills, Michele
and William Schloner of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Amy, Jodi,
Chris, Ari, Zachary, Ellie, Sara and
Jonathan.
Interment at Oakview Cemetery.

ALBERT RUBINSTEIN, 96, died
March 7. Mr. Rubinstein was the
owner of Fredrick's men's clothing
store. He moved from Europe to Cuba
in 1924 and then to the United States
in 1932. He acted as an interpreter for
Albert Einstein while in Cuba. He was
a member of Downtown Synagogue, a
lifetime member of B'nai B'rith Lodge
and one of the original members of
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Mr. Rubinstein is survived by his
wife of 66 years, Ida Rubinstein; sons
and daughters-in-law, David Rubinstein
and Barbara Berent of West Bloomfield,
Fred and Sharon Rubinstein of
Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
Ronna and Doug Levine, Michelle
Rubinstein, Steven Rubinstein and
fiancee Dahvia Locke, Jan Rubinstein,
Evan Rubinstein, Mark and Annette
Rubinstein, Ian and Claire Rubinstein;
great-grandchildren, Alysa and Daniel
Levine, Randi and Emily Rubinstein.
