died March 11.
He is survived by his wife, Esther

died March 8.

Newman of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Lillian
Goldman of Oak Park; grandchildren,

Balamut and Todd Balamut; great-
grandchildren, Jacob, Casey, Hannah,
Zane and Marni. She was the beloved
wife of the late Hyman Balamut.

IDA BARR, 103, of Grand Rapids,
died March 4.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Julius and Gladys
Barr of Southfield; daughter, Sarah
Black of Gainesville, Fla.; grandchildren,
Benson and Susan Barr, Eric and Karen
Barr, Rabbi Robert and Terri Barr, Carol
and Frank Birch, Dr. David and Jo
Black; eight great-grandchildren. Mrs.
Barr was the loving wife of the late
Samuel Barr; loving mother-in-law of
the late Bernard Black.

STELLA BLATT, 80, of Vernon Hills,
Ill., died March 7.
She is survived by her husband,

Harry Blatt; son, Bryan Blatt of Vernon
Hills; daughters and son-in-law, Elyse
Roberts of Laguna Beach, Calif., Denyse
and Michael Nathan of Highland Park,
Ill.; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia

ETHEL DORIS BOBROFF, of Grand
Rapids, died March 5. She earned a
Bachelor of philosophy and a master's
degree in economics from the University
of Chicago and then worked in western
Michigan for Amway and then
Wolverine World Wide, where she
retired as director of market research in
1992. Mrs. Bobroff taught courses in
economics for Grand Rapids
Community College. She was a presi-
dent of the League of Women Voters
and an active proponent of the present
design of the East Beldine.
She is survived by her husband of 47
years, Allen Bobroff, children, Norman
of Katonah, N.Y., Sondra of Ann Arbor,
Carol (Roy) Stansbury of Chicago;
grandchildren, Daniel, Michael,
Nathaniel and Sarah Bobroff, Erin and
Megan Stansbury; brothers and sisters-
in-law, Jerome and. Marcia Lynn,
Ellsworth and Janet Levine.

American Cancer Society, the American
Heart Association or a charity of one's

JEAN E DRAPKIN, 92, of Oak Park,
died March 11.
She is survived by her nephew,
Richard Silverman of Oak Park; broth-
er-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and
Frieda Drapkin, Belle Levin and
Dorothy Drapkin. She was the beloved
wife of the late George Drapkin.
Graveside services were held at the
Beth Tefilo Emanuel Cemetery.

JOHN ERMAN, 87, of Farmington
Hills, died March 13. Mr. Erman was a
carpet executive, who was the owner of
Wilton Carpet Company in Farmington
Hills. He was also a member and past
president of the Furniture Club of
Detroit.

JOSEPH FABER, 90, of Southfield,
died March 11.
He is survived by his son and daugh-

Orchard Lake; daughter, Helene Damen

Damen, Holley (Kurt) Mathews, Rachel
Faber, Mark Faber; brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Buddy Slafkin and Pauline
Gorsoff. He was the beloved husband of
the late Esther Faber.

HAROLD FELDMAN, 62, of Troy,
died March 7. Mr. Feldman was a
chemist at Trico Corporation and was
honored for his work, which included a
patent for rubber compounds used on
space missions. He was in the Coast
Guard Reserves for 20 years and the
army for four years.
Mr. Feldman is survived by his wife
of 37 years, Ellen Feldman; son, Richard
Scott Feldman; daughter, Michelle Joy
Feldman; grandchildren, Loretta and
Rachel Feldman; brother and sister-in-
law, Dr. Herbert 0. and Charlotte
Feldman of Texas; sister and brother-in-
law, Irene and Larry Stuart of Arizona.

MILTON E. HOFFMAN, 91, of We
Bloomfield, died Match 11. Mr.
Hoffman was a furrier executive and
owner of Forest Furriers in Detroit.

children, Brandon and Jared. Mr. .
Hoffman was the beloved husband of
the late Gladys Hoffman.
