HMC Seminar For Teachers The Holocaust Memorial Center will sponsor a seminar for teachers with Dr. Gideon Greif, an international authority on Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazis' largest extermination camp. The seminar will be held 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield. Dr. Greif's topic will be "Death Factory: The Industrial Character of Mass Killings at Auschwitz-Birkenau." A historian with Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority, for more than 20 years, Dr. Greif is active in Yad Vashem's International School for Shoah Studies. He has published several books on the Holocaust and produces Holocaust documentaries for Israeli radio and television. The seminar will focus on the industrial nature of the killing oper- ation at Auschwitz-Birkenau, where 1,250,000 Jews were murdered. The information is based on Dr. Greif's interviews with the sonderkommando, prisoners who worked in the death camps. Auschwitz survivor George Vine will discuss the workings of the camp. There is no charge for the semi- nar, but advance registration is nec- essary. Call the Holocaust Memorial Center, (248) 661-0840. TUicDfIV, flP1/11. 4T41 Sharon E. Bernard, Esq. Elaine C.
