The secretary of the Brotherhood-
Eddie Jacobson B'nai B'rith Bowling
League rolled a
perfect 300 game
in league action
Feb. 28 at
Country Lanes in
Farmington Hills.
Gary Klinger
recorded his first
300 game as part
of a 756 series. He
bowled 300, 234,
Gary Klinger
222 in three
games that night.
"I was so nervous, I couldn't think of
anything," Klinger said. "I started
talking to myself on the last ball just
to give myself a chance."
'Klinger started his second game
with six more strikes, "but then I hit
the wall a little bit. I must have settled
down, though, because it was a good
series."
Klinger raised his 204 average by
two pins after the night's work. His
300 game is only the second in the
history of the Brotherhood-Eddie
Jacobson League. In 1997, Eric
Goldberg rolled a 300 game.
Klinger comes from a B'nai B'rith
bowling family. His father Mark and
brother Mike bowl with him in
Brotherhood-Eddie Jacobson. His
father was league secretary for 25
years before Gary took over the reins
five years ago. Mark is a past B'nai
B'rith league president and is B'nai
B'rith International national tourna-
ment chair.
His mother Fran and sister Andrea
Reid bowl with Jewish Women
International's Galilee Tuesday league.
Gary Klinger is quick to point out,
however, that he is the only one in the
family that has bowled a 300 game.
