Telushkin The Accidental Star

Er

e. 's always a popular draw whenever he

returns to metro Detroit — and that's
hardly surprising.
Rabbi Joseph Telushkin — spiritual leader,
writer, lecturer — has built a national reputa-
tion for connecting to Jews of wide-ranging
backgrounds through his broadly focused lens
on ethics, humor and Jewish life.
Special writer Todd Leopold wrote the cover
story on Rabbi Telushkin (pages 6-14) under the
direction of Contributing Editor Jonathan
Friendly. In companion stories, staff writer Shelli
Liebman Doifilian, under Story Development
Editor Keri Guten Cohen's direction, describes
the rabbi's relationship with legendary Rabbi
Morris Adler, of blessed memory, and talks to
some of the rabbi's local fans.
Also inside: Please look for Goldfein's
"Alefbet'cha Can't Name," a weekly feature
that's both educational and entertaining, on
page 122. It inadvertently was left out of last
week's issue, for which we apologize.
