"If the camp is a member of the
ACA," Sturman said, "it has passed
rigorous guidelines that should make
parents more comfortable in sending
their children."
The Canip Fair will include incentives
for children and activities. In previous
years, there was face painting and gifts
such as flashlights and candy. Teenagers
will be able to speak with camp directors
about possible employment.
Be prepared to spend at least a couple
of hours visiting the Camp Fair, Sturman
suggests. She advises that families not
come "with the intention of choosing the
camp on that day. Taking time to mull
over the information is very important.

History Tour
Debuts On Cable

"Jewish History Tour" will debut on
MediaOne's cable-access Channel 18
on Wednesday, March 1.
Rabbi Steven Weil of Young Israel
of Oak Park researched, wrote and
narrated the tour in the form of 27
consecutive classroom lectures that are
90 minutes each.
The tour begins with classical
Jewish history and travels to modern
times. Rabbi Weil will present leading
players of their time, analyze their per-
sonalities, and discuss the issues they
dealt with and their impact.
The series began at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield last fall and resumed this
month. Producer Henry G. Leeds of
West Bloomfield said he wanted to
make it available to more people, so
arranged for the cable viewing.
