lementary students at Yeshivat Akiva in Southfield said their last
goodbyes to the comic strip "Peanuts" with a program of songs,
games and cartooning on Feb. 9.
Teachers Phyllis Rochen, Arlene Oppenheim, Janice Salter and
Lynn Farber planned the celebration to mark the end of the beloved comic
strip, which had run in newspapers throughout the world for nearly 50 years.
"Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz died Saturday, Feb. 12; his last strip
appeared the following morning. ❑
