10 YEARS AFTER...
FEBRUARY 28,1990

little did we know that morning that was going to call your name;
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
For a part of us went with you, the day G-d called you home.
You left us peaceful memories; your life is still our foundation,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing is the same,
But as G-d calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

The Foundation for the Advancement of Yiddish Studies is saddened by
the passing of the veteran activist, SARAH FRIEDMAN, who with her
late husband Moshe contributed significantly to the enrichment of the
Yiddish language and literature both here and abroad. Yiddish writers
and institutions benefited considerably from their generosity. To her
devoted daughter, Betty, sincere sympathy is extended from grateful and
appreciative supporters of Yiddish.
