minority presence, of women on many
Jewish communal group boards and in
top professional leadership positions
("The Leadership Dance," Feb. 18).
Fortunately, Jewish women in the
United States have a long and rich his-
tory of communal accomplishments
without waiting to be invited to the
"golden" table. Thanks in large part to
Women's American ORT (Organiza-
tion for Educational Resources and
Technological Training), Hadassah and
other national Jewish women's organi-
zations, Jewish women have had
ample opportunity, over the course of
many decades, to develop and express
valuable leadership skills, and make a
real and dramatic impact on humani-
tarian issues affecting Jews and non-
Jews worldwide.
ORT is very proud to be cited as
the source for so many of today's Jew-
ish communal leaders. ORT has
always attracted and welcomed the
bright, creative, visionary women who
are now sought after by other commu-
nal organizations. Today, Women's
American ORT continues to attract
even the most time-limited women
who value our mission, gain personal-
ly and professionally from our skills-
training programs, and thrive in a net-
work of like-minded, results-oriented
individuals.

a letter complimenting one of your
columnists. However, I feel I need to
let you know how much I enjoy
Annabel Cohen's cooking columns
("Cutting Carbs," Feb. 11).
I began to follow Annabel when
she was a judge for a kugel contest
and I still use that recipe today for a
Passover kugel. I watch her every Sun-
day morning on Fox 2 News and I
always read her column in your paper.
Very often I cut out her recipes. They
are simple, delicious and I have not
been disappointed yet.
As a business owner, I know how
valuable feedback on staff is, whether
it is positive or negative. I hope to
continue to enjoy Annabel's columns
in the future and enjoy the wonderful
dishes she shares with her readers.
