What's Most
Important To Me

Samantha Kelman
Special to AppleTree

I

would have to say that the three
most important things in my life are
my loving family, (finding) a cure
for cancer and a home.
These are things that
j money can't buy.
'. A loving family is
important to me
because without a lov-
ing family I wouldn't
feel well. I wouldn't feel
well because I wouldn't
have anyone to look
out for me. Nobody to
cheer me on when I
am about to score the
winning goal. Nobody
to cheer me on when I
hit a home run. There
would be no one to
give
i me discipline when I am bad.
Nobody to help me with my home-
; work. And nobody to comfort me
when I am sad. A loving family is
important to me.
A cure for cancer is important to
me because my grandma died of
cancer. If someone I knew had a

family member dying of cancer, I
would feel bad — very bad. I would
feel bad because it isn't easy watch-
ing anyone die, especially from a
disease as horrible as cancer. Some
types of cancer are curable, many
are not. My grandma
had an incurable type
of cancer. It was very
hard for me to watch
my grandma die. I
would rather give up
all of the jewelry,
candy and toys in the
world than to have to
go through that again.
A home is very
important to me
because it keeps me
warm when I am
cold. It gives me a
cool breeze when I
am warm. It gives me-a bed when I
am tired. It gives me a shower when
I am dirty. A home just gives me a
place to be, and a place to be is
important to me.
A loving family, a cure for cancer
and a home are the three most impor
t tant things to me. These are things that
money just can't buy. ❑

THE RIGHT WAY...
THE NADCA WAY

The air duct cleaning industry has grown dramati-
cally over the past few years due to the recent pub-
lic awareness about indoor air quality. However,
very few companies have the proper training,
licenses, equipment and certification. Here's what
to look for when trying to choose a reputable air
duct cleaning company:

_ MCA certified member (National Air Duct
Make sure they are a Nom
Cleaners Association). ------
We were one of the first N.91:(4 staff members to become certified. Don't be afraid to
ask for proof or call NADCA in Washington, D.C. (202) 737-2926. We are also a
certified firm through MSHI (Mechanical Systems Hygiene Institute) and are a certified
indoor environmentalist through The Indoor Quality Association.
Proper cleaning procedures include: A.) Create a negative air flow (a strong suction
throughout the entire ventilation system). B.) All vent covers (return and supply) must
be removed and cleaned. C.) All ducts are snaked out with high compression air hoses.
D.) All trunk lines are then cleaned with compressed air. E.) Blower and coils cleaned.
F.) Biocide sprayed when needed.
All air duct cleaners must be licensed in the state of Michigan. Ask for proof.
An average home takes around 2 to 4 hours to clean properly.
