Two types of pizza crust are avail-
able... its Classic, with fresh plum-
tomato sauce ... or a thin-crust New
Yorker ... with 14 topping selections ...
plus specialty pizzas like one with gar-
lic chicken and broccoli ... or a grilled
vegetable topped with char-grilled egg-
plant, zucchini squash, tomatoes,
olives and red onions.
Napoletana's reasonably-priced
entree selection is quite large ... hardly
the kind one would expect from a
small neighborhood carryout ... But
remember, this is one in which the
owners are both respected former
executive chefs whose statures are
unquestioned.
Six veal dishes ... Parmesan, Siciliano,
Napoletana with Palmina sauce; Piccata
with garlic, lemon and white wine;
Marsala with mushrooms; and
Saltimbocca with prosciutto, mozzarella
cheese, sage and Madera wine .. are all
made with the very fine Provimi veal.
Eight chicken entrees include roast-
ed half, barbecued half, Siciliano
breast, piccata breast, Marsala breast,
parmesan breast, saltimbocca and
Diablo.
The St. Louis-style barbecued ribs
draw much highly favorable comment
... as does the shrimp dish with garlic,
white wine and lemon ... and tender-
loin Marsala with mushrooms.
Also six salads and two homemade
soups ... including a wonderfully bod-
ied Minestrone ... thick with pasta,
beans, spinach, celery; carrots, onions
... made with chicken broth and toma-
toes ... The homemade chili is with
ground sirloin.
Many of your finest chefs are usual-
ly quite adept at pastry-making, too ...
Louai and Sam are among this elite ...
with their dessert case displaying
banana cream pie, Spanish coffee
torte, chocolate pudding cake,
tiramisu, etc. Cannolis are made by
them, as is creme brulee (on special
order) ... A pastry chef comes in twice
a week, and if the ingredients are too
intricate, makes the dessert wares in
her home and brings them to
Napoletana..
It is open six days a week ...
Tuesday through Thursday, 11-9:30;
Friday and Saturday, 11-10:30;'
Sunday, noon to 9:30 ... Closed
Monday.

The food, including hot soup, is
brought in insulated, square, heavy-plas-
tic thermal bags ... The food containers
themselves are not Styrofoam, which
many times might tend to get soggy and
leave strange tastes ... but good see-
