Women's American ORT has created
Project REACH 2000, an area response
to unmet educational needs for women,
children and families in local shelters
and counseling programs.
For one month, beginning March 13,
Project REACH collection bins will be
at synagogues, businesses and schools to
collect new and "like new" educational,
parenting and career guidance materials.
Project REACH collections will take
place throughout the year.
Three organizations were chosen to
be recipients of project REACH 2000:
Common Ground Sanctuary, HAVEN
and Orchards Children's Services.
Businesses are encouraged to provide
in-kind donations and financial support.
Youth groups, bar/bat mitzvah students
and families are welcome to participate.
For information, call ORT, (248)
723-8860.

pleted Jack and

Ramat-Gan,
Israel.
Because the Jewish studies program
at Bar-Ilan never had a home of its
own, it was decided to house the pro-
gram in one of the first buildings con-
structed on the university's new cam-
pus. When completed this fall, the
Nagel building will provide the acade-
mic resources and setting for the largest
faculty of Jewish studies in the world.
The Borovoys both serve on the
board of the Detroit Friends of Bar-
Ilan University, were among its earliest
sponsors of scholarships for Russian
immigrants, and are in Bar-Ilan's
Presidential Founders Society. They
have made numerous trips on the uni-
versity's behalf to Israel and
Washington, D.C. The Borovoys have
been active with Congregation B'nai
Moshe, Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit, State of Israel
Bonds, Jewish Theological Seminary
and Fleischman Residence.
For information on Bar-Ilan pro-
grams, call (248) 540-8900.
