13 illel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit's
varsity and junior varsity
basketball teams tangled
with Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-
Kingswood on Jan. 23 at a special
venue.
The teams matched-up in after-
noon games at the Palace of Auburn
Hills before the Pistons-Mavericks
NBA clash.
Under a special arrangement with
the Pistons, schools are allowed to
play at the Palace in advance of
A Pistons games if the squads purchase
tickets for the pro game. The junior
varsity game ended in a 30-30 tie.
The Cranbrook varsity defeated
Hillel, 27-18.
Following the games, the teams
and families — more than 400 peo-
ple — had a kosher dinner together
in the Palace.
