the Flamingo Hilton ... Excalibur fea-
tures strolling performers in medieval
costume and knights ride unicorns every
day Bellagio has a water and musical
show outside every evening ... with the
fountains dancing to various songs in
colorful display.
Downtown on Fremont Street, every
hour after dusk, are spectacular seven-
minute light and sound extravaganza
shows under a massive canopy 90 feet _
above four blocks.
Free circus acts all day are at the
Circus, Circus Grand Slam
Adventur
' edome Theme Park... Caesars
Palace's Omnimax Theater shows films
on a six-story high screen with surround
sound ... At the Mirage are exotic white
tigers, panthers, lions, leopards, ele-
phants and dolphins in the garden-like
environment ... Amazing 2D and 3D
films are at Luxor's IMax Theater ...
MGM Grand's Sky Screamer is a free-
fall thrill ride ... T as Vegas HiltOn's Star
Trek features an outer space thrill ride ...
America's tallest observation tower is in
the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino, plus
two of the world's rnilest rides, 100 sto-
ries above the ground ... Tropicana's
Wildlife Walk is a paradise of exotic
cockatoos, toucans and marmosets.
. The new breathtaking all-suite
Venetian is sheer glamour ... and
includes a Grand Canal complete with
serenading gondoliers, and runs through
arched bridges into a shopping complex
replica of Venice's St. Marks Square.
A second ultimate extravagance phase
is expected this summer ... -as a duplicate
tower is themed with a lagoon and man-
na, adding another 3,036 suites and
another 116,000 square foot casino.
The Paris Hotel decor draws nothing
but raves ... with much of the detail of
its namesake ... even the bread man rid-
ing on a:bicycle ... and French porcelain
sinks in the restrooms ... The ceiling
above is a large blue sky .... making
almost everything, including the casino,
seem stunningly outdoors.
Dining at the Venetian is striking ...
sometimes hard to believe ... Amid all its
first-class amenities, though, a lounge
serves coffee in paper cups ... And in its
C2K Showroom, hot steaming coffee is
brought in glass cups without handles ...
Venetian creator and owner Sheldon
Adelson would seem not to want people
drinking coffee.
Most of the Jewish delicatessens on
the Strip are fair ... New Yorkers are a
big part of the Las Vegas visitors each
year ... and a good portion of these
make their way to the Forum Shops at
Caesars Palace, where New York restau-
rateurs Joel and Howard Banish con-
ceived the idea of bringing New York's
