s he drove her to nursery school each
morning, Beverly Baker's father taught
her Yiddish and Hebrew songs. In their
home, Jewish education was cherished.

For Beverly, it was a lifelong value.
She continues to study into adulthood,
supporting institutions of Jewish learning
as a student and as a donor.

She and her husband Morris, who shared
her commitment, sent their three sons to
Hillel Day School.. But they wanted to
do more.

"When you send a child to day school,
it adds so much to your family life. My
husband and I shared the dream of a day
school education for every Jewish child.
Now I want carry on his dream."

Shiffman Day School Tuition Assistance
Fund, whose goal is a Jewish day school
education for every child who wants one,
regardless of ability to pay.

"Whenever I decide to support a project,"
says Beverly, "I always ask myself, Would
Morrie like what I'm doing?" With the day
school tuition assistance fund, "I know he
would be pleased."
