Communal Series
Examines Aging

Those interested in aging issues, cur-
rently caring for older adult family
members or friends, or who may do
so in the future, are invited to attend
the series, "Back to Basics:
Cherishing and Caring for Our
Jewish Older Adults," at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield. The series is cosponsored
by the Commission on Jewish
Eldercare Services (COJES) as part of
Seminars in Adult Jewish Enrichment
programming.
Three, one-hour classes will be
offered 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24;
March 2 and 9. The topics are: "The
Art of Jewish Caregiving," "Through
the Ages, Honor thy Father and
Mother" and "ElderLink: Connecting
People and Services Today."
COJES is a partnership of the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit, the United Jewish
Foundation and the following
Federation agencies providing services
to older adults: Jewish Apartments
and Service, Jewish Community
Center, Jewish Family Service, Jewish
Home and Aging Services and Jewish
Vocational Service.
Local sponsors of SAJE are the
Jewish Community Center, the
Jewish Federation, the Jewish News
and the Agency for Jewish Education,
with an endowment from Cis Maisel
Kellman.

`Red Tent,' Midrash
Series To Start

Community educator Ruth Bergman
is teaching a 12-week adult Jewish
study series, "The Red Tent and the
World of Midrash." Sponsor is Eilu v'
Eilu, the lifelong learning project of
the Michigan Conservative movement.
The course meets 8-9:30 p.m.
Mondays at Congregation B'nai
Moshe as part of the Women's League
for Conservative Judaism-Michigan
Branch, which promotes Torah study
for women.
New students are welcome to join
the class, which runs through mid-
April. There is a charge of $10 per
session.
