The Payclia Approadi Simply the best solution for women suffering hair loss due to chemo, alopecia, genetics or medical side effects. Director Cheryl Hall sparkled in a midnight blue Vera Wang sweater set and a satin skirt with a wide belt. Artist Deborah Rader of West Bloomfield noticed that many women wore gloves and colorful pashmina shawls. Rader and her husband Ron, an attorney, were first-time charity preview patrons. • In addition to people watching, the Raders also previewed the cars. They liked the Ford Escape. "It's very sporty, and I like the bike rack that slips down," said Deborah Rader. The Ford Escape is a compact sport-utility vehicle aimed at athletic buyers; its roof rack flips down to hold bikes or skis. For the more than 17,000 patrons who attended the preview, raising funds for 10 local children's charities, many of the automakers provided entertainment. For example, acrobats whirled through the air at the DaimlerChrysler exhibit. At 9 p.m., limousines lined up to whisk patrons across town to a number of parties. Helen Kaye, a creative executive at Yessian Music, went to the party at the Gem Theatre that was hosted by Exhibit Works. For some lucky guests, like Hank and Sue Marx, and Judge Avern and Lois Cohn, they had only to walk a few feet into a glit- tery tunnel for the WXYZ (Channel 7) afterglow reception held at the Riverview Ballroom in Cobo Center. Some of the other charity patrons spotted in the crowd included: Warren and Jacqueline Pierce, Rick Ruby and Carol Rothenberg, Mike and Lynn Kukes, Rita and Paul Sherr, Marty and Linda Goldman, Frannie and Julian Greenebaum, Roz and Stanford Blanck, and Don and Marjorie Epstein. Deborah Rader summed up the evening: "There's a lot of energy." SWINGTIME 2000 - The Fanclub Foundation for the Arts is presenting "Swingtime 2000" 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Fisher Building.
