He was active with the United Way for 40 years, a member of the Service Corps of Retired Executives, a lifetime member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and was very involved in the civil defense movement in the 1950s and 1960s. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and on the board of direc- tors of the Detroit Federal Employees Credit Union. Mr. Stromer is survived by his wife, Selma Stromer; daughter and son-in-law Betsy and Joel Kellman of Huntington Woods; son and daugh- ter-in-law Dr. Merrill and Ruth Ann Stromer of Arizona; grandchildren Jennifer Kellman Fritz and Ron Kellman Fritz, Yoni Kellman and Noah Stromer.
