Stacy and Jeffrey Brodsky, and her
siblings Brian and Danielle. Her
grandparents Joan and Jack
Friedman and Dina and Herman
Brodsky, as well as her aunts, uncles
and cousins will take part in the
service.
Tamara is an honor student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. She
was on Hillel's cross-country, cheer-
leading and basketball teams.
Tamara enjoys dancing, swimming
and skiing.
For her mitzvah project, Tamara
worked with emotionally and physi-
cally challenged children through
the Friendship Circle.

Jennifer Sara Garfinkle will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, Jan.
15, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield. Jennifer
is the daughter of
Lisa and Larry
Garfinkle and sister
of Rachael and
Adam. Proud
grandparents are
Gloria Rivkin and Susanna and
Martin Garfinkle. Jennifer is the
granddaughter of the late Frederic
Rivkin and the great-granddaughter
of Edith Rivkin.
An honor student at Abbott
Middle School in West Blomfield,
Jennifer enjoys ice skating, reading,
tennis and playing the trumpet. Her
most memorable mitzvah projects
included visits with JARC residents
and working at Camp Betman.
Jennifer will make donations to
Alyn Hospital in Jerusalem to help
buy medical supplies and will
donate books to Ann Visger
Elementary School in River Rouge
to honor the memory of her grand-
father Dr. Frederic Rivkin.

Matthew Lee Kaminsky will
become a bar mitzvah at

Congregation B'nai
Moshe on Saturday,
Jan. 15. He is the
son of Lori and
Marvin Kaminsky
and the brother of
Amy. Proud grand-
parents are Dolores
and Harold
Greenspan of West Bloomfield and
Mildred and Milton Kaminsky of
Boynton Beach, Fla. Excited great-
grandma is Reva Greenspan.
Matthew is a student at Walled
Lake Middle School. He is involved
in theater with Nancy Gurwin and
has done many plays at the Jewish
Community Center. Matthew's
mitzvah project was spending time
at Fleischman Residence, singing
and talking with the residents.

Eric Lee Kauffman Mally (Avram
Labe) will be called to the Torah as
a bar mitzvah on Friday, Jan. 14, at
Temple Emanu-El.
Eric is the son of
Helene and
Michael Mally and
little brother of
Shane Kauffman
Mally. Proud
grandparents are

and Harry Ungar of
West Bloomfield and Nora Mally of
San Diego. Excited great-grand-
mother is Sophie Kingston of Oak

Eric is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Norup Middle School in
Oak Park. He is on the seventh-
grade basketball team and he also
enjoys playing baseball and his
trombone. For his mitzvah project,
Eric worked with speech and lan-
guage impaired students at Trix
Elementary School in Detroit and
he donated his time to the Pediatric
Cancer Survivors Scholarship Fund
of William Beaumont Hospital.

Shayna Ashley Scafe of Rochester
Hills became a bat mitzvah at
Congregation Shir Tikva on
Saturday, Jan. 8. Shayna led the ser-
vice with Rabbi Arnie Sleutelberg.
Participating in the service were
Shayna's parents, Arthur Scafe and
Marla Scafe, who is president of
Shir Tikva, and her brother Josh.
