Tarik Daoud, a businessman and philan- thropist who co- chairs the Arab American Jewish Friends, will speak at 8 p.m. at the second annual Tank Daoud Brotherhood Shabbat. Last year, he earned the group's Community Service Award. Daoud's auto career began in 1956 when he left Iraq to study at the Detroit Institute of Technology. After working at Stark Hickey Ford, he moved to Al Long Ford. He later became president and owner of Al Long Ford in Warren and Shamrock Ford Lincoln-Mercury in Clinton. Committed to community service and philanthropy, Daoud and his wife, Helen, are major supporters of educa- tion. The Bloomfield Hills couple have initiated scholarship and endowment funds totaling $500,000, including a scholarship dedicated in the name of Al Long Ford employees.
