Beth Shalom high school
students and teachers were
treated to a special
Chanuka learning seminar with
dance artist JoAnne Tucker of New
York.
Dr. Tucker, who holds a doctorate
in theater and founded the Avodah
Dance Ensemble, described the Dec.
5 workshop she led as creating "the
choreography of prayer."
"As we explore the ritual move,
ment that is part of our Jewish tradi-
tion," she said, "we also focus on
some of the key prayers that are a
part of our liturgy ... weaving in tal-
mudic and Torah texts to support
and enrich our experience."
