Maccabi Sets
Robinson
Scholarship

The Metropolitan
Detroit Maccabi Club
has created the
Robinson Memorial
Scholarship award,
eligible to all past and
present Detroit
Maccabi athletes.
The scholarship is in
Jay Robinson
memory of Jay
Robinson, founder
and past president of the Maccabi
Club, whose lifelong goal was to fos-
ter Jewish identity and participation
in Jewish communal life.
The successful candidate will
receive a $1,000 scholarship for study
either in Israel or for participation in
an organized national or international
Jewish event. Participation must
occur between June 1, 2000, and
May 31, 2001.
Candidates should submit a one-
or two-page essay that describes the
Maccabi experience and the effect it
will have on his/her life. A personal
profile should include name, address,
telephone number, school now
attending and year completed by June

2000.
