Led Zep enthusiasts may not know what to make of Farrell's hyp- notic remake of "Whole Lotta Love," but it's a forceful, incandescent trib- ute to a band that helped pave the way for Jane's Addiction. The rest of Rev is comprised of six Jane's Addiction songs and eight Porno for Pyros tunes. Up next for Farrell is his debut for Virgin Records, The Diamond Jubilee, scheduled for release in spring of next year. In addition to a new record label, Farrell seems to be leading a new life these days. Since becoming a father last year, the rocker says he's cleaned up his life, and doesn't drink or do drugs. Born Perry Bernstein, he also says he's rekin- dled interest in his Jewish heritage. — Reviewed by John Godfrey Copley News Service
