Entry forms for the Israel Dream
Lottery are available for college stu-
dents who would like to spend a peri-
od of time in Israel. The forms can be
picked up at congregations, campus
Hillels and the Michigan/Israel
Connection of the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit, 6735
Telegraph, Suite 206, Bloomfield
Township.
The Women's Campaign and
Education Department of the
Federation, which is offering the
Israel Dream Lottery, will award
cash prizes of up to $2,000 for a
semester (or longer) program or
$1,000 for a shorter program. The
lottery is open to metropolitan
Detroit students, age 30 and under,
who have completed one year of col-
lege by June 2000 and are currently
enrolled at any college or university.
The cash prize may be applied
toward any program approved by the
Michigan/Israel Connection.
Deadline for entry forms is March
10. The drawing will take place
March 23. Programs must begin by
September 2001.
Only one entry is allowed per
person. Applicants may be eligible
for additional financial assistance
toward the cost of the Israel experi-
ence through various other sources.
The Women's Department is
funding the award program with a
portion of increased contributions to
Federation's Annual Campaign. Sue
Erlich chairs the Dream Lottery pro-
gram; Ruth Beitner is associate chair.

Transportation
For Seniors
There will be a meeting on transporta-
tion for seniors at 1 p.m. Monday,
Jan. 17, at the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building of the Jewish Community
Center in Oak Park.
Alex Goldberg from Jewish
Family Service will speak on the
Jewish community's new cooperative
agency transportation system, which
will assist in getting seniors to med-
ical appointments, hospital visits,
shopping, the JCC, the bank, the
beauty shop and other needed desti-
nations. There is no charge for this
program.

Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Ilitch, vice chair of Little Caesar
Enterprises Inc., a company founded
by her father Mike Ilitch, also is
executive vice president of the hold-
ing company for the Ilitch family's
business interests in the food and
entertainment industries.
In her role with Olympia, Ilitch
most recently was part of the team
that put together the plan to develop
side-by-side stadiums for the Detroit
Tigers and Lions near the theater
district. She led the team effort that
attracted Hard Rock Cafe to Detroit
as one of the anchor tenants of the
Hitches' $15 million Columbia Street
project.
In 1993, she co-founded the
Lovelight Foundation, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to enhancing
the lives of impoverished children,
women and families through educa-
tion, outreach and funding.
She was inducted into Detroit's
International Heritage Hall of Fame
in 1999, was named Marketing
Innovator of the Year in 1998 by the
Sales and Marketing Executives of
Detroit and was honored as one of
four Women of Achievement by the
Anti-Defamation League.
The luncheon program, chaired by
Leo D. Maxbauer, is one of a series
presented by Federation's
Community Outreach and Education
Department to inform and involve
men and women in Jewish communi-
ty issues and activities.
Advance reservations are required
by Jan. 12. There is a charge of $25
for the dairy lunch, with a kosher
meal provided upon request with
