with another Middle-Eastern restau-

Mark Dixon, dishwasher and pro-

those personals in the Jewish News
Connector ... '5-year-old dog, wor-

FOOD BROKER Larry Warsh,
talks about his recent trip to Russia
with his wife, Bonnie.
Laughter, he says, at one time was
one commodity that had never been
exported from there ... What did
they have to laugh about? he asks ...
Russia may have been funny to us,
but to them it was no laughing mat-
ter.
There was a time, tells Larry,
when Russia had so much censor-
ship, you couldn't even sneak out
caviar ... over there even the fish
were afraid to open their mouths ...
The sign in the voting booths read,
"Vote Communist — The Life You
Save May Be Your Own."
He tells of one couple walking
along the street minding their own
business ... You know," Ivan whis-
pered to his wife, "I have the funni-
est feeling we're not being followed."
One sick Russian was in bed in
the middle of the night when a
knock came on the door ... "Who is
it?" he asked ... "The Angel of
Death," came the reply ... "Thank
goodness," said the comrade, "I was
afraid it was the Secret Police."
Their favorite quiz show was,
"I've Got a Secret Police" ... First
prize was two tickets to an execu-
tion.
Larry quips that Russia was the
only country in the world where
television watched you ... he says a
Soviet leader was on television .. "Of
course, it was easy for him to be a
hit on TV," says Larry. "All his crit-
ics were in Siberia." 17
